The newly released PC feature trailer takes a deep dive into the many graphic settings Ubisoft’s upcoming Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will include on PC. By using state-of-the-art PC technologies and features, the game is said to take full advantage of the power of both PCs and new-gen consoles. To ensure all players can enjoy a stunningly high level of visual fidelity while traversing through the striking open world, the game’s features will be optimized both for lower-spec computers and high-end rigs.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will include raytraced reflections and shadows to allow immensely detailed, realistic, and immersive visuals while exploring the vast landscapes of Pandora. Taking advantage of the extended graphic settings, players will be able to fine-tune the game’s reflections and shadows according to their liking and specific hardware. The PC benchmark tools take the tinker capabilities even further as they let players test out their gaming machines and tweak a variety of settings for a truly optimized and individualized experience.

As Ubisoft has partnered with AMD for the game, it doesn’t come as a surprise Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will utilize AMD’s FRS 2 (FidelityFX Super Resolution) upscaling technology. More surprisingly, the game will also include Nvidia’s DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) upscaling technology at launch. Ubisoft (consciously) didn’t mention this in the PC feature trailer, but did briefly note it in their blog post. The game will also feature resolution and ratio adaptability with support for ultrawide and multi-monitor setups. Furthermore, the game utilizes high core count processors that will ensure smooth performance with stable FPS and low latency for players on machines with different specs in all resolutions.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is being developed by Ubisoft Studio Massive Entertainment in collaboration with James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment production company and Disney. It will bring Cameron’s renowned universe from his celebrated Avatar movies onto consoles and PC and let players explore the never-before-seen Western Frontiers of Pandora. As a standalone adventure, it is set after the events of the first Avatar movie and will let you jump into the blue skin of a Na’vi who has to learn the ways of his clan and help protect Pandora from the human militaristic corporation RDA.

The game was first announced at E3 2021 and originally slated for a 2022 release. After being quietly delayed into 2023, it got a new gameplay trailer and release date at the Ubisoft Forward in June. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is now set to launch on December 7th, 2023, on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Amazon Luna. With a subscription to Ubisoft+ on PC and Xbox via Ubisoft Connect, players will be able to play the Ultimate Edition on day one. It’s already available for pre-order now.
