Robert Downey Jr has impressed the audience by bringing Marvel’s popular comic character, Iron Man to life. While fans desperately await some multiverse trick to bring him back to the MCU, the actor has continued to strengthen his craft with other roles that hold similar significance. One such character is Sherlock Holmes which he portrayed in two movies.

Having made his debut as the smart detective in the 2009 movie, Sherlock Holmes, he reprised the role in its follow-up sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows in 2011. Since then, there have been many rumors cooking up about a third sequel with fans anticipating its arrival.

Given that the actor has already confirmed its development, his co-star, Eddie Marson has expressed an active interest in reuniting with Downey Jr. again.

In an interview with Comicbook.com, Eddie Marson talked about a potential third installment in the Sherlock Holmes series. For the unversed, Marson played Inspector Lestrade in both Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Stating whether he has been approached for a potential movie in Sherlock Holmes saga, he replied, 

“I don’t know. I keep hearing, I just did a movie with Jude[Law], and neither – no one’s approached either of us.”

He further talked about the intense rumors that continued to stay prominent in the entertainment world regarding Sherlock Holmes 3. 

“I don’t know, they keep talking about it and talking about it and it’s been 10, I think it’s been over 10 years, 12 years now. I don’t know. I don’t know. I hope so … hope so.”

He praised his period flick co-star, Jude Law for his performance and further added that he would be down to reprise his role in the third movie. 

“I think I think Jude was fantastic. I’d be up for doing another one so we’ll see.” 

With the War House actor showing a genuine interest in getting back together with Robert Downey Jr, it is surely gonna add much charm since another popular actor is making headlines to get associated with the film series.
