Even at the age of 61 years, when most stars think of taking it a little easy with their roles in the film industry, Tom Cruise is out here jumping off cliffs and piloting a supersonic fighter jet in real life. This terrifying resilience mixed with his tenacious nature to get things done as accurately and perfectly as possible has definitely been one of the factors of him becoming the biggest film star in history. But apart from all of these characteristics, there’s one thing that many may not know of, which is the fact that he may never sleep.

In a past Q&A with E! News, the Eyes Wide Shut star was informed that one of his co-stars, who has been working with him for 17 years at that point, told them that in all this time they have been working together, they have only seen him sleep on two separate occasions. One was the time when they were on their flight to Japan, and the other was on a zero-gravity bed. When asked whether he slept at all or was he constantly up, defying human limitations, he said:

“You know what? I try not to. think I don’t sleep, I go unconscious, that’s what happens. It’s like, I love [that] my days start early, and they go early.”

If anyone wasn’t impressed with just how unbelievable Cruise is in real life, they certainly would be blown out of their minds now.

What Other Superhuman Feats Has Tom Cruise Displayed?

Apart from the aforementioned minimal sleep schedule that the star follows in his day-to-day life, he is also a very devout fitness enthusiast who stays on top of his health which makes doing all the stunts and action a possibility. Apart from that, he is also a perfectionist with an unbelievable amount of patience who learns everything there is to know about the stunts that he is going to do to make every frame look perfect, even if it takes months to prepare for it.

But the most prominent one among them all is his high-speed sprint which he has become famous for in the last couple of years. In the past, he revealed that the reason why no one else runs with him during those shots is because he’s just too fast, which is accurate considering he’s allegedly been clocked at 17 MPH top speed.
