While the Harry Potter franchise may be iconic for the titular protagonist and the supporting yet equally integral cast, one just cannot seem to forget about the character of Professor Severus Snape from the series, a role that was forever immortalized in the memory of the Late Alan Rickman, who’s performance may never be able to be replicated.
But apart from his one-of-a-kind performance as the potions teacher of Hogwarts, he has had several prolific performances that might go unnoticed in comparison, but still are just as impactful as all the others. But one thing that the star found to be kind of unnerving was when some of those roles demanded him to get it on with his female co-stars.
Alan Rickman Wasn’t Comfortable Doing Intimate Scenes In Nobel Son
When a star is so attuned and recognizable for his role as an iconic and important character in a film or a film franchise, it’s easier to remember them for that exact performance, which is something monumental to achieve on its own. This was what happened to the Late Alan Rickman, who is remembered for his exemplary performance as Professor Severus Snape in the iconic Harry Potter franchise. This was also the reason why his other performances in other films were not too well-known, and why this was a good thing according to the star.

In a past interview with Contact Music, the Die Hard star talked about how his s*x scenes in his 2007 dark comedy film Nobel Son were one of the biggest and most awkward moments of his acting career. While he had been part of many romance dramas in the past, he said that he was never OK doing these intimate scenes because he felt bad for the actresses who would have to engage with him in this act, which created a feeling of pity in his heart for them. He said:
“You show up at nine in the morning and you shake the poor woman’s hand: ‘Hi, nice to meet you, and then you get at it on the desk, It’s such a bizarre thing to do. You just move on as quickly as possible. I felt sorry for those women in the s*x scenes.”
While he knew that this was part of the job description, his kind and considerate nature would always pull him back.

What Was Nobel Son About?
This dark comedy featured Rickamn as the lead protagonist, who is a renowned chemistry professor named Eli Michaelson, an insufferable and arrogant man who has just won a Nobel Prize for his contributions to the field of chemistry. But as soon as he is announced to be receiving the honor, his son Barkley is kidnapped by a young science prodigy named Thaddeus.
But when Barkely is brought to their hideout, Thaddeus reveals that he is actually Eli’s illegitimate son, and to get back at their obnoxious father, he asks Barkely to join hands with him and extort millions from him.
