Stallone admitted that there was a time when he understood that his career as an actor was not going in a fruitful direction.
Sylvester Stallone has been a part of some of the greatest franchises like Rambo and Rocky and movies like F.I.S.T., Paradise Alley, and Demolition Man. According to the 77-year-old, he faced a critical situation in his life when he was failing as an actor but some well-made decisions came to use.

While Sylvester Stallone is a great name as an actor, his works as a filmmaker and writer are celebrated widely as well. But it looks like the Nighthawks actor is a bigger fan of his writing than acting. During an interview with TIMES, when he was asked if his writing affected his acting, the actor was fast to admit that it was his writing that brought him so far.
Sylvester Stallone explained that he was not really going anywhere with acting and was not able to grab good opportunities. He added that he was never good in movies and got several side roles initially.
“Well, my writing for the screen is really the reason I’m here. I was not very good in school. If you’re not brilliant, you try to find something that resonates. With acting, I was going nowhere. I was like Mugger No. 3 in every movie. When you’re playing the fourth lead on Spy Kids, you know you’re not doing well.”
The voice of King Shark was also asked to choose between acting and filmmaking. Stallone admitted that he undoubtedly loves filmmaking more than acting. He loves to be the architect instead of staying a slave to other people’s vision.
“Oh, there’s no question about it: directing. You are the architect. If it’s good, great. If it fails, it’s because your vision wasn’t good. It’s the idea of building something from the foundation up. When you’re an actor, you’re a slave to other people’s visions.”
Sylvester Stallone has also spoken about his struggles in other interviews as well. The actor has shared anecdotes about how he was rejected from the smallest roles before rising to be a global icon.
Sylvester Stallone was rejected from The Godfather
The Godfather is considered to be a legendary movie. It is on the mandatory list of every movie lover and the people who want to truly appreciate the art of cinema. Stallone thought that he could bag a minor role in the Marlon Brando classic as there’s a party scene in the movie featuring as many as three hundred guests.
Talking to ABC News, the Oscar-nominated actor confessed about failing to bag any role in The Godfather:
“I couldn’t even get casted as an Italian. I said, ‘If there is one movie I can definitely get into, it would be “The Godfather” because there’s a party scene and there’s three hundred guests’. They said no.”
But slowly his career graph showed improvement after he started developing Rocky which went on to be one of the most prominent movies ever. The film garnered three Oscars and went on to earn $225 million against a budget of under $1 million. It skyrocketed Stallone to international fame and he never had to look back.
