With S.H.I.E.L.D. being out of action for a good chunk of time, Earth has been steadily invaded by alien species known as The Skrulls, who with the ability to shapeshift and mimic humans, secretly come to Earth in order to infiltrate them and take control of humanity from the inside. And in recent times, their activities have caught the attention of Nick Fury.

Therefore, with the help of his trusted soldiers as well as friends and acquaintances, the former director seeks to take out the threat before it manifests itself to such an extent that it starts affecting the daily lives of innocent human beings.
