Cyberpunk 2077 Gives Keanu Reeves a HUGE Facelift

Cyberpunk 2077‘s Johnny Silverhand was one of the most beloved characters in the game, as it was based on and voiced by Keanu Reeves himself. As much as Johnny Silverhand resembled Keanu Reeves in the game, with his aviators and shoulder-length hair, the character had a world of a difference on occasions when the character took off his aviators in the game. Update 2.0 which hit PC and consoles yesterday, seems to have brought along a lot of visual upgrades.

While we wait for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty to drop for everyone, it’s worth going over the changes brought around with Update 2.0, including Silverhand’s brand-new updated look.

CD Projekt RED (CDPR) had advised gamers to start the game with a clean slate once the update arrives, and looking at the amount of changes brought into the game, reviewers have agreed wholeheartedly. From UI updates to a complete visual overhaul, the 2.0 update has been termed by fans as what Cyberpunk 2077 should have been from the beginning.

Popular gaming reviewer Ameer posted a couple of screenshots of Johnny Silverhand from Cyberpunk 2077 before and after the 2.0 update, showing a huge difference in the visual appearance of Keanu Reeves’ character, Johnny Silverhand.

The visual overhaul is quite evident in the game after the update, as characters look even more denser and less cartoonish as Ameer mentions in his post above, it’s brought a “gigantic improvement”. Ameer went on to cover a whole lot of other changes in the game as well, through his posts.

As seen in Ameer’s post above, the game looks quite different after the update, and hence the advice by CDPR to start afresh is quite justified. Ameer also mentioned that PC gamers must update their GPU drivers prior to launching the game once the updates are installed, just to be sure there are no stutters or crashes.

The driving mechanics have also improved quite a lot as Ameer shows in his post above. Sharp turns in the game look a lot smoother and a lot faster as well.

In a recent interview, Elba shared his experience of having played the character of Solomon Reed in Cyberpunk 2077‘s Phantom Liberty DLC. Elba was quick to say his character was quite intense, with “a lot of layers” but it’s not a sad story. Elba only voiced his character in the game without any motion sensor captures, as CDPR decided to animate his emotions. Idris Elba explained the process by saying he had to record several emotions at a time.

Elba concluded by saying he does not plan to work on another game in the near future. Elba also mentioned that he’s proud of his work in the game and that fans must definitely look forward to playing the DLC. With all the new updates to the game, this now feels like the best time to play the game, for anyone who hasn’t yet tried Cyberpunk 2077.
